올해의 주제는 다음과 같습니다.
기민한 공상
‘미적 대상화’는 인간이 특정 대상을 ‘미(美’)의 관점에서 바라보고 해석하는 과정을 뜻한다. 이는 자연경관에서 일상 사물에 이르기까지 다양한 형태로 나타나는데, 그 배경에는 각자의 사고가 작용한다. 사람들은 대상화 과정에서 사물에 대한 자신의 감정과 해석을 담아내고, 이를 통해 사물에 새로운 의미와 가치를 부여한다. 즉, ‘새롭게 바라보는’ 과정을 통해 ‘보는 것’과 ‘아는 것’ 사이의 수많은 어긋남 또한 인식하는 것이다. 우리가 살아가는 이 세상은 그리 평면적이고 단순하지 않다. 다양한 서사가 한데 어우러진 고차원의 입체적 세상이다. 따라서 ‘보는 것’과 ‘아는 것’ 이 둘의 관계는 결코 한 가지 방식으로 정해져 있지 않다. 끊임없이 변화하는 유동성을 지닌 존재라 할 수 있겠다. 어떤 것을 더할 수도 있고, 어울리지 않는 것은 덜어낼 수도 있는 그런 상태. 그러한 것들이 뒤엉키고 해체되면서 또 하나의 신선한 무엇으로 재탄생한다. 이러한 과정은 우리의 상상력을 자극하여 새로운 공상을 불러일으키고, 일상에서 벗어나 더욱 풍부하고 다채로운 경험을 가능하게 하여 현실과 이상의 경계에서 우리의 생각 범주를 확장한다. 사고할 수 있는 영역 자체가 넓어짐으로써 새로운 창의적 아이디어의 발판을 마련하는 것이다.
고전적 담론에서 벗어나 이미지의 본질을 파헤치고, 그 본질을 나만의 고유한 시선으로 바라보는 공상을 펼쳐보기를 제안한다.
작가 혹은 단체 모두 지원할 수 있습니다.
개인은 특정시리즈나 전체 작품 중 8점 - 12점의 작품을 제출해야 합니다.
올해의 작가 1명과 15명에서 20명 사이의 예술가가 선정될 예정입니다.
공모전의 혜택은 다음과 같습니다.

1. 일반
목적> 동강국제사진제는 전 세계 작가들과 함께하는 사진 축제입니다. 동강국제사진제 공모의 목적은 작가를 지원하고 작품을 보여줄 무대를 제공하며 신진 및 기존 작가의 사진작품을 전시하는 것입니다.
장소> 선정된 작가의 작품은 동강국제사진제의 주요 전시공간, 야외공간 또는 스크리닝으로 전시됩니다.
날짜> 올해 동강국제사진제의 주요 프로그램은 2025년 7월 11일부터 9월 28일까지 개최됩니다. (야외 전시는 2026년 동강국제사진제 전까지 전시됩니다.).
응모자격> 제23회 동강국제사진제의 공모는 국내외의 작가, 단체 모두에게 열려 있습니다.
제출마감> 2025년 6월 1일 00시 00분까지 입니다. 응모비용은 없습니다.
2. 제출방법
제출>
1. 작품: Jpeg 형식의 디지털이미지 8~12점, 각 파일은 긴변 4,000 pixel 이상의 파일
2. 이력서: 이름, 주소, 이메일, 모바일 번호, 간략한 이력과 작가 소개
3. 작품설명서: 400자 이하의 짧은 작품 설명
지원방법 + 접수> 동강국제사진제 공모전은 응모는 이메일로 접수합니다.
필수항목이 누락 되었을 경우 접수되지 않습니다.

3. 올해의 작가 선정 및 전시 관련 수상작 선정
동강국제사진제의 큐레이터 팀이 심사하고 올해의 작가와 수상작을 선정합니다.
결과공지> 2025년 6월 10일까지 동강국제사진제 홈페이지 공고 및 선정된 작가에게 개별적으로 결과를 공지합니다.
홍보> 선정된 작품은 동강국제사진제 홈페이지에 게시되고 인쇄 및 온라인 매체를 통해 진행되는 홍보캠페인에 포함됩니다. 작품은 동강국제사진제에서 제작하고, 작가와 협의하에 전시됩니다.

We invite you to submit your work to the 23rd DongGang International Photo Festival, to be held this year from July 11th to September 28th, 2025 in Yeongwol, Korea.
This year's theme;
Assimilate them, Refine them, Slit them
‘Aesthetic objectification’ refers to the process by which humans view and interpret certain subjects through the lens of beauty. This process can apply to everything from natural scenery to everyday items, and it is shaped by each individual’s unique viewpoint. During the objectification process, people project their emotions and interpretations onto the subject, thereby assigning new meaning and value to it. Through the act of seeing anew, we also recognize the discrepancies between what we see and what we know.
The world we inhabit is far from flat or simple. It is a multidimensional space where countless narratives intertwine. Thus, the relationship between seeing and knowing cannot be defined by a single point of view —it is fluid and constantly evolving. It is a state in which elements can be added or removed; in which what doesn’t belong can be carved away. During the process of such entanglement and deconstruction, new forms emerge—fresh, unexpected, and alive. This process ignites our imagination and invites new visions. It enables richer, more diverse experiences beyond the ordinary, expanding the boundaries of thought at the threshold between reality and ideal. As the realm of thinking itself widens, a platform emerges from which new creative ideas can spring forth.
We invite you to depart from conventional discourse, delve into the essence of the image, and imagine anew—through your own singular gaze.
Individuals and collectives are welcome to apply;
individuals should submit between 8 - 12 photographs from a particular series or body of work.
Selected 15 - 20 artists including ‘Artist of the year’ (individual artist or 1 team of winner) will benefit from:
A-year-long exhibition that exposures at the DIPF Festival - inclusion in art magazine, any related press (long term festival representation and promotion on official website, publications, catalog that being seen by a substantial number of visual arts professionals and the media) where the works viewed by an international panel of influential experts in the field of photography
* 'Artist of the year' - solo exhibition at DIPF (production - printing, framing or related presentation material will be provided) and eligible for travel and accommodation to attend the opening.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
1. GENERAL
Objectives DongGang International Photo Festival aims to feature a quality selection of photography projects from around the world. DIPF’s open call is devoted to offering a platform and supporting photography, showcasing photography and related media from emerging and established artists.
Venue_The selected photographs will be presented to DongGang International Photo Festival in DongGang in main exhibition space, outdoor space and screening at the opening ceremony.
Dates_The Main Program of 22nd DongGang International Photo Festival will be held from Jul. 11th to Sep. 28th, 2024
Eligibility_Submission to DongGang International Photo Festival 2025 is open to artist from around the world.
Entry Deadline_Submissions must be made before June 1, 2025, 0:00 hrs.
There is no entry fee for submissions.

3. SELECTED WORKS
Selection_All submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the curatorial team of the Festival.
Status Notification_All selected artists will be notified by June 10th, 2025
Exhibition_23rd DongGang International Photo Festival will collect the digital files from selected artists and the production will be provided for the exhibitions.
Publicity_The selected projects will be presented on the Festival’s website and be part of the Festival’s promotional campaign in print and online media, increase awareness of the selected works in the photography community.
