이번 전시는 현직 포토저널리스트 두 작가가 개인의 상처와 사회의 구조적 폭력을 서로 다른 시선으로 기록한 사진전입니다. 전반부는 개인의 트라우마와 상처를 담은 인물 초상을 통해, 불완전함을 감춰야 할 결함이 아닌 인간의 삶과 회복의 흔적으로 바라봅니다. 후반부는 기지촌과 성병관리소 등 역사적 공간을 기록하며, 국가가 방치하고 은폐했던 구조적 폭력과 사회적 기억을 고발합니다. 개인의 얼굴과 역사의 공간을 함께 보여주는 이번 전시는 상처를 지우는 것이 아니라 기억해야 할 역사로 마주하게 하며, 사진이 개인과 사회의 기억을 연결하는 기록이자 증언의 역할을 수행할 수 있음을 보여줍니다.

This exhibition presents the works of two active photojournalists who document personal wounds and the structural violence of society from distinct perspectives. The first part focuses on portrait photographs that reveal individual trauma and pain, viewing imperfection not as a flaw to be hidden, but as a trace of human life and recovery. The second part documents historical sites such as camptowns and venereal disease control centers, exposing the structural violence and social memories that the state neglected and concealed.

By bringing together personal faces and historical spaces, the exhibition asks viewers not to erase wounds, but to confront them as histories that must be remembered. It shows how photography can serve as both record and testimony, connecting the memories of individuals with those of society.
